The first issue to be print in February 2011 and to have retail price approx. 30 grivna ($3,8). Experts say, Forbes`s annual license is $500 000.

In February, 2010 Donetsk print house Novyi Mir (New World)bought thermal СtP-system AGFA :Avalon N 8-50 XT with capacity of 40 plate per hour. Print house already had phototypesetting systems Heidelberg Hercules Elite and Heidelberg Quicksetter but because of increased volumes of orders printer had to invest in a new platesetter item.

Print house Pechatnik (Printer) bought the last Perm Territory`s government print house – Vereschaginskaya tipografiya – for 3,4 mln rubles (approx $114 000).

Russian print house Unipack-Rostov and Sberbank Leasing signed up for seven-color sheedfed press Roland 707 LTTLV. Average cost of press – 2,5 mln EURO.

In June, 2010 Hunkeler started up completely new disposal system at Russian printing plant Pushkinskaya Ploschad.

The deal between Russian printing plant Almaz-Press and PromSvyazCapital Group (Extra M and Media Press owner) failed. Both sides broke off negotiations because of significant heatset market drop as well as buyer’s thoughts that the print plant should reduce the price due to the financial crisis.  In 2008 both sides already announced the sale of Almaz-Press’ 100% shares. At that time VTВ Bank fixed Almaz-Press’ price to $50 mln. However different experts claim Almaz-Press may increase its value by 25-30% due to the import duties reduction on LWC-paper from 15% to 5%.

On September, 26 Russian publishing house Bonnier Publications (Gastronom, Shkola Gastronoma, Kollektsyya Retseptov) to start up licensed international magazine Science Illustrated. 

On September, 1 Russian L'Officiel changed its publisher from Parlan (Mezonin, TopGear) to AST Group (one of the biggest Russian publishing house of books (800 title per month) and magazines – Rybalka na Rusi, Spinning Traveller, Okhota, Bolshoy Biznes, J&W, MakeUp, Estetica etc.).  In 2009 AST Group covers around 10,74% of Russian book market.

Publishing house Burda Ukraine launched five magazines: crosswords editions Dobrye Sovety.Sudoku, Оtdohni.Kross-Kokteyl, Labirint Krassvordov.Schastlivyy Sluchai; horoscope Dasha.Goroskop and Dobrye Sovety.Zvety v Dome.

Russian publishing house Media Info Group starts up application of weekly free newspaper Moskva Info (Moscow Info) and monthly Zdorovyi Gorod (Healthy City). The application with circulation 300 000 copies to appear in D3 format and 4 pages.

From September, 2010 glossy Zdorove Ot Prirody (Health by nature) to increase its circulation up to 150 000 copies and to cut format to A5. Magazine’s publisher – Veneto – also planning to decrease costs of Zdorove Ot Prirody by 40% in order to push up magazine’s sales.

Solikamskbumprom, Russian manufactirer of newsprint, presented to investors its project of building new PM №5 with a production capacity to be equal all mill’s paper machines. Total investments volume is 12 billion rubles (approx. $390 mln). The project to be completed by 2014.

Russian Nordea bank opened two credit lines (in total for $140 mln) to Ilim Group.

The first credit’s ($40 mln) period is 1,5 years, second one ($100 mln) is for 5 years. 

Russian investment company Basic Element sold 25% shares to another investment company – Kontinentalinvest. Due to the purchase Kontinentalinvest became owner of the 50,27 % shares of the Baykal pulp and paper mill. 

In January paper and board manufacturing increased by 79,3% (to 1397 000 t) compared to the same period of 2009 in Kaliningrad Region. 

The project of Sokolskiy pulp and paper mill and Investprom – the Volgograd paper mill – to start manufacture of high quality coated paper in 2015 – unfortunately mill’s opening was slow down because of economical crisis. The single mill of coated paper to produce 600 000 t per year.
